Reflection Connection takes your privacy seriously and is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with The Privacy Act (Commonwealth) 1988.

By receiving support at Reflection Connection will need to collect some personal information to assist us to provide you with services. We will treat this personal information with the utmost respect.

The kind of information that will be collected includes but is not limited to; names, date of birth, contact details, details of mental health status and traumatic events.

What this means is that all information you give us will be treated as confidential and can only be released to a third party with your written authority, or in those limited cases were such release is required by law.

In some circumstances Reflection Connection is legally obliged to disclose information about you. As disclosed in our consent Agreement the following circumstances are;

  • Where the Police / Court orders Reflection Connection to make records or information available (e.g. subpoenas and search warrants)
  • Where a client is at risk of harm to themselves or other
  • Where a child or young person is suspected of being harmed or is at risk of harm as defined by the Child Protection Act.

Reflection Connection may collect personal and private information and hold them on both electronic and hardcopy files.

Reflection Connection may collect information from you directly, or from people that you have given consent to release information (e.g. treating doctor)

Case notes and personal information in electronic form is held on a third party encrypted platform.

Requests to access information can be made in writing. If you feel information contained in your records are incorrect, you can request for them to be amended.
